Star Vs. The Forces Of Evil [Extra Quality]

The show's title sequence was promoted at Comic-Con 2014 six months prior to its scheduled broadcast premiere. As a result, the footage was uploaded by fans to YouTube who then started generating fan art and fan fiction.[10] The first episode premiered on Disney Channel in January 2015. The positive reaction on social media prompted Disney XD to order a second season of the series in February 2015, six weeks ahead of its launch of the series on Disney XD in March.[19] Disney sitcom actors Olivia Holt and Kelli Berglund participated in promoting the series the weeks before its Disney XD premiere, with Holt dressing up as Star.[20][21]

Welcome to Star vs. the Forces of Evil Wiki, a wiki for the animated comedy adventure series Star vs. the Forces of Evil on Disney XD! Star vs. the Forces of Evil follows fun-loving magical teen princess, Star Butterfly, who -- after a few bold skirmishes with other-worldly monsters -- is sent by her royal parents to live with the Diaz family on Earth, bringing along her own unique inter-dimensional style to her new planet. With the Diaz's teenage son Marco by her side, this foreign exchange student from another dimension embarks on new adventures battling evil villains throughout the multiverse and in high school, all in an effort to protect her powerful magic wand, which she is still figuring out how to use.

STAR VS. THE FORCES OF EVIL's title tells you all you need to know about this show's plot. It's pretty basic stuff: A heroic duo faces off with nefarious creatures of all shapes and sizes, traveling to one universe after another to escape their grip. Along the way, the earthling teaches his tagalong about being human, and a carefree princess introduces her human counterpart to the thrill of adventure. Their intergalactic travels and skirmishes with evil are fun to watch but lacking in substance.

For being such polar opposites, Star and Marco do manage to meet each other halfway and forge a friendship that teaches each one some lessons in responsibility, courage, and a healthy appreciation for fun. Beyond that, though, there's not much of note in this scattered show that has the feel of being pieced together from a 7-year-old's imagination, what with the flying disembodied unicorn heads and a magic wand that conjures everything from laser beams to a bevy of narwhals. The influence of Adventure Time is clear in the kooky characters, and it's nice to see female protagonist Star fighting evil. If unpredictability and fantasy are your kids' tastes, then Star's adventures will keep them entertained.

In "Mr. Candle Cares", a vengeful Tom Lucitor sends one of his minions (Mr. Candle) to try to make sure Star and Marco never get together as well as hoping to manipulate Star into getting back together with him by pointing out she will be queen soon and it will be a big responsibility. Once Marco finds out and provokes Tom by claiming he and Star are officially a couple, Tom captures him in a fit of anger. After finding out Marco lied, Tom gets upset that Marco lied to him only for Marco to point out he lied to Star. Deciding Marco couldn't leave, he decides to give Marco a chance through a fight to the death, allowing Marco to choose whatever he wants the challenge to be and even accepts his term of whether he loses, he'll tell Star the truth. Marco chooses Ping Pong, but looses several times to Tom. Later on, they start to talk about how both are fond of Star's fun loving personality, deciding that despite winning to spare Marco and tell Star the truth, admitting he tried to trick her and that he was wrong. After Star punches his arm in retaliation and hugs Marco, Tom departs on semi-good terms.

Tom shows up again in "Friendenemies" where he seemingly wants to become closer to Marco though in secret it is his final test to get over his anger problems set up by his life coach Brian. To do this, Tom invited him to see a marathon of his favorite late martial artist: Mackie Hand and to ride to it in his undead horse carriage. A skeptical Marco asks which movie is his favorite with Tom being hesitant but gives at first two films before choosing the original in Swedish. He apologizes over not trusting them only for Tom to admit he doesn't have many friends due to not many people making the effort to know him. Then all of a sudden, a couple of street racers mock Tom and the carriage, causing Marco to stand up for him by challenging them to a race but tells Tom not to speed. And as the racers speed, they are immediately pulled over, causing Tom to admit that was better then destroying them. The two then bond over finding out they also share a fondness for the boy band "Love Sentence". However as the the marathon is about to start, Tom tells Marco it stay in the carriage for a little longer and when he refused, Tom gets enraged , causing him to fail his final test which Brian points out. Realizing Tom used him, Marco calls Tom out, who then tears up the tickets. Furious, Marco storms off only for Tom to try to make amends admitting that while he hated the movies, he was truly a fan of Love Sentence, only to sing part of one of their songs to point this out. Marco, still upset, refuses to accept the apology until Tom resurrects Mackie Hand. The episode ends on them admitting while they're still not friends, they are on better terms. With that said, later episodes do state that they have become friends and have began to hang out somewhat regularly.
