Oakland County's Department of Information Technology (IT) plays an integral role in County operations by developing, integrating and maintaining innovative technology programs. IT provides service to all units of County government, as well local municipalities and County-affiliated companies, organizations and individuals.


Welcome to the Department of Information Technology at Kennesaw State University! Our department offers the degrees of BS in IT, BAS in IT, and MS in IT, all of which include an online option. The department participates in PhD in CS, PhD in Data Analytics, MS and BS in Cybersecurity. Our ABET-accredited curriculum incorporates knowledge in information technology, computing, and software engineering to graduate our students with a comprehensive academic background and strong hands-on skills. Our faculty are actively pursuing research, seeking grants, and mentoring students in projects. The department takes great pride in collaborating with many industry sponsors to provide real-world projects to our students in courses and capstones. DoIT guides technology solution delivery and support for the agencies in the executive branch of state government. The needs of the residents of Illinois remain top priority in developing collaborative solutions to service delivery.


Department of Information Technology (DIT) is the authorized agency for planning, design and implementation of information technology and communications systems for the County enterprise to include, but not limited to, designing, deploying and administering information systems, applications, network infrastructure, telephony, mobile communications and devices, websites and data storage, and any other information technology now or in the future.


Fairfax County has ranked 2nd among America's top ten in the 2022 Digital Counties Survey by The Center for Digital Government in partnership with National Association of Counties (NACo). The survey identifies the best technology practices among U.S. counties.


The mission of ITS is to provide trusted information technology and telecommunications leadership and services that offer proven, cost-effective solutions to all stakeholders in Mississippi government. The rapid evolution and expansive growth of data, voice, and video technologies provides a continuous challenge to seamless integration of technology resources and services that are customer-centric, scalable, secure, efficient, and effective.


In this diverse technical ecosystem, the Legislature has tasked ITS with providing statewide services that facilitate cost-effective information technology and telecommunication solutions that can be shared with all state agencies. In addition, ITS, with the full cooperation of state agencies, strives to identify opportunities to minimize duplication, reduce costs, and improve the efficiency of providing common technology services across state agency boundaries.


The UWF Department of Information Technology is an academic department that is dedicated to providing students with the computing, technical, and project management skills required to become tomorrow's IT professionals, including Database Administrators, Information Security Specialists, System Analysts and Developers, Network Engineers/Managers and other positions.

The Information Technology Bureau (ITB) plays an integral role in establishing the NYPD as one of the leading counterterrorism and crime-fighting forces in the nation, developing and implementing cutting-edge technology to support strategies, programs, and procedures that promote safety, efficiency, and effectiveness.


The bureau provides the department with state-of-the-art technological support, building a leading IT and telecommunications infrastructure. ITB comprises six divisions, each with its own specialized directive, which report directly to the Deputy Commissioner, Information Technology. The six divisions are: Administration, which handles issues pertaining to personnel, investigations, telecommunications and asset management; Fiscal Affairs, which handles budgeting, grants and procurement; Strategic Technology, which oversees information security for the entire department, mobility projects, and a vast assortment of applications and databases; IT Services Division, which maintains networks, servers, and mainframes and oversees customer support; Life-Safety Systems, which administers the electronics section, e911 Systems, and the Public Safety Broadband Section; and the Communications Division, which oversees New York City's 911 call centers and maintains tapes and records of all 911 calls.


The Information Technology Bureau oversees a multitude of projects and has rolled out numerous technological initiatives. All members of the service have been assigned NYPD email addresses, and all uniformed members have received department smartphones, equipped with official investigative applications and tools, such as language translators and traffic/mapping capabilities. Additionally, the NYPD has been equipping marked department vehicles with detachable tablet devices, enabling greater portability and efficiency.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and in order to create a flexible teaching and learning environment that supports both in-person and remote learning capabilities, technology upgrades to classrooms are being implemented for fall 2020.
